Simple Ways to Boost Your Energy and Immunity

Are you wondering why you always feel tired and fatigued?

The biggest reason that most people feel drained, lack energy, and suffer from chronic pain and illness is their lack of “grounding.” What is grounding you ask? Put simply, it is reconnecting and realigning our energies with the Earth. And why is it important? Being well Grounded is an essential foundation for good health. We are energetic beings (we are made of energy) and all electrical devices need to be grounded. We are “grounded” when we are connected to the Earth in a way that allows both fresh energy to enter and feed our body and, just as importantly, excess energy to exit our system. If fresh energy is not able to enter your body and dirty stagnate energy isn’t able to leave it, you are left feeling depleted and tired.

Being ungrounded is becoming an epidemic in our modern world of technology for many reasons. Most people spend most of their time indoors and surrounded by Electromagnetic frequencies produced by all the digital devices. Our exposure to these frequencies (aka EMFs) is increasing rapidly with the expansion of cell towers and wifi and this is directly linked to the increase in chronic health concerns. It’s more important now than it ever was to spend as much time outdoors reconnecting to nature as possible.

Some signs that you may be ungrounded

  • Feeling anxious, spacey or lightheaded
  • Lack of focus, irritability, or feeling scattered
  • Constant busyness and rushing
  • Clumsy or out of balance
  • Inability to complete projects
  • Absorbing the energy, emotions, moods, and feelings of others
  • Impulse to hoard things and money
  • Nerves are fried or feel spacey

Benefits of getting and staying grounded include

  • Reduced levels of stress
  • Decrease in pain inflammation
  • Improved circulation

Simple ways to improve your grounding

  • Rub a stainless steel spoon on the bottoms of your feet for several seconds.
  • Tap on your cheekbones (directly under your eyes) while taking 3 deep breathes.
  • Using all of your fingers, thump on your upper chest just below your collarbone. (These points can be found by moving straight down from the eyes to the hollow area below the collarbone as shown below). Continuously thump these points while taking 3 deep breathes.
  • Massage and stretch the soles of your feet.
  • Walk barefoot on the grass as much as possible and/or sit with your back against a tree.
  • Some good crystals that help with grounding include: Hematite, Smoky Quartz, Shungite, and Jasper. Wearing or carrying these stones in your pocket will benefit you. Find more information on each of these crystals here.

A Resolution to Regain Your Health

The New Year is the perfect time to resolve to get more healthy. We all make those health-related resolutions with such good intentions, but inevitably we don’t stick to them for long. I saw a cute post on Facebook recently that advertised a new gym opening called “Resolutions.” It promised a full array of aerobic classes and work out equipment . . . for the first two weeks. After that, it was scheduled to turn into a wine bar. That’s pretty much the story with most of our resolutions. We stick to them for two weeks and then forget about them.

So to help you stay on track with a resolution of improving your health I thought I would share one fast and super easy technique per month. It will be something that is so easy that you can do it without even thinking about it. Do it every day until my next post (where I will share another easy technique). After you learn the second one you can add it to the first one. Before you know it, you will know the entire “Daily Energy Routine” by heart.

This month’s technique is Tapping the Stomach Meridian

Why is this important? Tapping on the beginning points of the Stomach meridian helps you to Ground and good Grounding is a foundation to maintaining good health. It also helps with digestive disturbances as well as draining the energy of worry and stress from the body.

To do it, just tap lightly on your cheekbones, directly under your eyes. Try starting every morning by tapping these points while taking three long deep breathes.

Bridging Energy Medicine With Western Medicine

Energy Medicine is quickly moving into our health care system and it couldn’t happen soon enough. We have become a society that looks at the body as a collection of separate parts and pieces without recognizing how all the parts connect and relate to each other. Conventional (or Western) medicine seems to focus on illness rather than optimizing health. It is much more “sick care” than health care because it doesn’t do much to prevent illnesses. It only treats them after the patients are already sick. It also doesn’t seem to be able to identify the causes for these illnesses and doesn’t understand the mind, body, and spirit connection within the body. There has been such a huge gap in knowledge for so long and that gap is finally starting to close thanks to Energy Medicine.

It’s time to move away from a medical system that is based on drugs, surgery, and anything coming from outside the body. It’s time that we look inside for all we need to heal. This concept of going inside has ancient roots and has been around since the beginning of time. It’s almost ironic that our system had to advance to incredible levels of sophistication only to realize that the most basic methods are still very valuable and very much needed in our current high tech society.

So what exactly is Energy Medicine?

Let’s start with Einstein’s theory. In a nutshell, he said that all matter (physical things) are made of vibrations of energy. This literally means that every single thing in the Universe, including our physical bodies, is made of energy. Understanding this basic principle is a game-changer on how we view our bodies. It is possible to manipulate this energy with magnets, with crystals, and with nothing more than our own hands. Manipulating the energy field to remove blocks and increase the flow of energy through the body directly correlates to how healthy you will be. This should certainly make us re-think the need for drugs and surgery as our first resort.

Imagine turning to non-invasive methods that integrate mind, body, and spirit with no side-effects as our first means of healing? Imagine if you could do some of these things yourself, right in your own home. Imagine if you had the power to heal yourself without worrying about insurance, huge medical bills, and potentially deadly side effects.

The Missing Mind-Body Connection

The biggest thing that conventional medicine doesn’t address is the role that our thoughts and emotions play in our overall health. This is a fundamental dimension of health care that, as of yet, hasn’t been taught in medical schools. But things seem to be changing. More and more conventional doctors are becoming more open to the idea that our thoughts and fears are projected into our physical health – that there is a direct link between the mind and the body. Learning to control our thoughts is equivalent to learning to control our health and this is why some hospitals are now offering (or prescribing) meditation. Again, an ancient skill that is now coming back to our high tech society because no medical equipment or drug will ever compare to the power of meditation.

There have been many scientific studies with proven evidence that Energy Medicine works. In fact, it has been scientifically established that the Chinese physicians who mapped the acupuncture meridians thousands of years ago were completely right! These meridians are what carry our energy through the body.

Things are Starting to Change

Many Energy Medicine protocols are now being offered in conventional hospitals prior to and following surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, or other invasive procedures because they have been known to decrease negative side effects, diminish shock, and expedite healing. It is so great that hospitals are now welcoming these sorts of treatments for patients that are already very sick, but why stop there? How great would it be to welcome in Energy treatments to healthy people as a preventative way to ensure they never need to get as far as surgery or chemotherapy?

The first step is for people to learn how important it is to keep their energies flowing in healthy patterns. The second step is to teach them just how easy it is to do at home every day. It should become part of our daily hygiene just like brushing our teeth. If we can progress our acceptance of this sort of work it will truly change our lives, and I am hell-bent on doing just that . . . sharing and spreading my knowledge of the power of Energy Medicine. Please click below to see some of the classes that I am currently teaching in Camden, Maine. I am planning to take these classes online to reach a much bigger audience. Stay tuned for more information on that!

Six Myths About Energy Medicine

Much of this content was borrowed from Dr. Bradley Nelson at https://discoverhealing.com/ (the makers of the Emotion Code™ and Body Code™).

There are many myths surrounding Energy Medicine that I want to debunk. The more knowledge you have about this powerful healing modality the healthier you can be. Recently Dr. Bradley Nelson shared an article that I want to, in turn, share . . .

In a society where modern medicine is the norm and big pharma companies are getting bigger, holistic wellness techniques can be easily overshadowed or discounted. In past years, subscribing to solutions that might be considered “unorthodox” could earn you the label of being “strange” or “unconventional.” The times, however, seem to be changing.

Though people have used complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) for thousands of years, research from institutions like the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) and the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) indicates that there is a growing percentage of Americans who are taking their personal health and well-being into their own hands with a more holistic and alternative approach. In fact, statistics show that over a third of the American population seek alternative ways to relieve pain from chronic conditions, improve overall health, and relieve stress. One popular method for CAM is energy healing.

What is Energy Healing?

Energy healing is intended to tune into the body’s frequencies and the subconscious mind in order to pinpoint the stressors, thoughts, and emotions impeding our overall health and wellbeing. Through energy healing, practitioners are reputed to use heightened levels of consciousness and even spirituality to help their clients achieve a mind-body balance that may aid in overall wellness and alleviate many health concerns.

Though it’s been practiced for millennia, many people remain skeptical of energy healing or don’t fully understand it. Energy healing isn’t about magic crystals, incense, and chanting. In fact, energy healing is now being taken seriously by health practitioners across all realms of medicine and is considered a legitimate practice and profession by growing numbers of people around the globe.
Like the aforementioned “magic crystals and incense” myth, there are several common misconceptions about energy healing. After debunking these common myths, you might find that energy healing can benefit you in ways that more traditional methods might not.

Myth #1: There’s no science behind energy healing

One of the biggest energy healing myths is that there is no science behind it and that it’s all pretense. However, that is simply not the case. Along with leading institutions like the NCCAM and NCHS, the NIH’s National Center for Complementary Health (NCCIH) has spent years conducting scientifically-backed research about the potential effectiveness, quality, and benefits of energy healing. Through these studies, researchers have found that energy healing may be used to improve the immune system, reduce pain, facilitate and speed recovery, and much, much more. You can learn more about the science here.

Myth #2: Energy healing requires you to be religious

Simply put, energy healing is designed to activate the body’s energy systems and remove any negative energies or blocks that may prevent self-healing. In no way does this process require you to subscribe to a particular religion in which you believe in a God. Rather, energy healing is about trusting in a power bigger than yourself (what matters is its significance to you, not whether it’s religious or not) and balancing the energies within your body and mind.

Myth #3: Energy therapy is massage therapy

Though massage therapists might use energy healing techniques in their practice, energy healing is not a massage. Some types of energy healing involve the practitioner conducting a series of hand movements over your body, with the intent of keeping up with the flow of energy. Some other methods may include applying magnets to the meridians of the body, or muscle testing. In no way do these practices involve physically manipulating or massaging your tissues.

Myth #4: Only certified practitioners can apply energy techniques

While using a certified practitioner is very beneficial, there are several ways you might achieve energy wellness for yourself. By starting off visiting an energy practitioner, you should be able to learn many tips and techniques from him or her that you can practice on your own at home. The more professional sessions you receive, the more you will learn to do.

Myth #5: Energy therapy exhausts your own energy

One common myth is that an energy practitioner can transfer energies out of your body and leave you feeling exhausted. But instead, our premise is that energy practitioners work to remove energetic imbalances in order to create better balance and leave you feeling better, not depleted. While there can be some temporary discomfort from processing after an energy healing session (such as high emotions or lethargy), we believe the result is worth it.

Myth #6: Energy healing is a new, modern practice

The practice of energy healing has been around for thousands of years. Prior to the introduction of western medicine, hospitals, and specialized doctors, many turned to the local medicine woman or shaman to maintain or improve health. These primitive practitioners would use an array of techniques in an effort to align their patients’ energies and enhance the body’s own recovery abilities. Even today, traditional Chinese medicine incorporates and relies on the use of chakras, channels, and meridians to influence health and well-being.

Power of the Emotion Code

I love stories. I love hearing them and I love telling them. I can’t seem to remember a person’s name no matter how many times I’ve been introduced to them, but if they told me a story I would be able to retell that same story with amazing accuracy. There is something magical about stories that touch us. Since I love telling stories (and I have a million to tell) I’m going to use this outlet to share . . . I hope you find them inspiring.

So last week I woke up with a terrible pain in my lower back, just over my back left hip bone. I couldn’t imagine what caused such sharp pain because I didn’t do any unusual the day before. I had trouble just walking from the bedroom to the kitchen and for somebody that is normally 100% pain-free, it was quite shocking. I did go SUPing the day before, but I’ve paddled many times with no pain what-so-ever. This just didn’t seem right.

As I sipped my tea and wondered how I was going to take my giant dog for his morning walk in such pain something struck me. Why not just ask my pendulum what is wrong? So that is exactly what I did. I asked what was causing the sudden pain and the answer was ’trapped emotional energy.’ I found two trapped emotions directly related to the pain and both occurred at age 51. At this point, I was only 51 for 3 days! The two emotions that came up were “longing” and “worry” and there was no question what this was all about.

That very morning (3:00 AM to be exact) my husband drove out of the driveway on his way to Logan airport to depart on a two-week trip around the world. From the second I heard the tires hit the dirt road I cringed at how awful his trip would be (for him) and I felt bad for him and worried about his safety. I spend the last few days “longing” for him not to go. After United recently canceled his original flight over India (after the drone got shot down in the same air space that his flight was scheduled to fly in) I couldn’t stop worrying about the trip from hell.

I released the trapped energy from both of these emotions and I could feel my pain INSTANTLY go from an 8 to a 3 on the pain scale. It was significant enough that I put my sneakers right on and took my dog for his 2-mile walk. Within 2 hours the pain was completely gone.

Never underestimate the power of emotions!

My Energy Medicine View of Lyme Disease

Lyme map THE REVELATOR

I recently ran across the above graphic that shows the number of reported cases of Lyme Disease in the US between 200 – 2017 and it got me thinking . . . My first thoughts went to a conversation about Lyme that started in one of my recent Intro to Energy Medicine classes. One of the class participants told the story about how she found a tick on her, went to a doctor and was told that the tick bite was nothing to worry about. She later told friends of this and received a whole lot of concerned feedback telling her that she should demand a Lyme test, or worse yet, demand a prescription for antibiotics. I mentioned my feelings . . . that I think the population is just a little too trigger happy with the antibiotics and we are all almost in hysteria over the threat of Lyme. I suggested that maybe our fear of the disease is actually contributing to it.

That prompted another class participant to share her story of getting Lyme disease, despite not having any fear whatsoever of it. She said that she was tested positive for Lyme, but never actually found a tick or a rash. She assumed the tick bite was on her head as a result of spending time under a tree and her hair must have blocked the rash from being visible. When I asked her about what else was going on in her life at the time of this Lyme diagnosis she did admit that her life was full of high stress.

Hearing these stories and seeing that graphic really ramps up my feelings on this subject. I am by no means a Lyme expert, nor a medical doctor, but I do have my own opinions based on what I know about energy, energy psychology, and the way our brains and bodies work.

When I look at the graphic of reported cases, I do wonder if it’s the excessive press about Lyme disease in the areas that it’s bad that creates more and more cases. Is it possible that there are just as many ticks in the parts of the country that have low cases, but there is not constant bad press scaring people into running to the doctor every time a tick crawls on them?

When people flood the doctors, fearful of tick bites and request antibiotics I’m assuming that the doctors must fill out insurance forms to specify what the meds are for. Whether people have the disease or not, they want the meds “just to be sure” and this inflates the “reported number of documented cases” and the more cases we have, the more it’s in the news as an epidemic. It’s a vicious cycle.

I know most people have heard of the placebo effect – taking a fake sugar pill (without the knowledge that it’s a fake) with the belief that the pill can cure us . . . and that belief is the thing that actually cures us! But have you also heard of the Nocebo effect? This is the same principle but in reverse. This is when a doctor gives you a diagnosis and you believe that you’re going to die, so you do. Or you fear a certain disease like cancer, spend way too much time stressing over it and thinking about it, and then you bring the illness on yourself because you believe that it’s hereditary and you’re doomed.

Our thoughts control our health.

So back to Lyme Disease . . .

Even if there’s no specific fear present (as in the case of one of my students) but there’s already a tremendous strain on the body due to stress and other emotional or environmental factors, you are setting yourself up for illness. I think the Lyme disease (or some other illness) may already be manifesting in the body long before the tick arrives. Perhaps in some cases, the tick bite is triggering something that’s already brewing under the surface. Or maybe there was never even a tick bite at all. It just seems to me that Lyme Disease has become an easy and logical way to explain the various symptoms (that may actually be caused by stress) and it seems to be the “Go To” diagnosis these days. I think most people don’t want to hear a doctor tell them that stress is causing their problems because it might sound like a co-op. It’s somehow easier to accept that something outside of themselves gave them an illness. I just want to urge you to understand how important our internal environment is to ward off the toxins and threats from our external environment.

I truly believe that keeping your energies healthy is the first and best line of defense against Lyme disease (and any other disease for that matter). And this includes your emotional energies. Being happy, joyful, grateful, with a positive outlook on life and not fearing the ticks and waiting for the worst case scenario will do wonders.

Why I No Longer Offer Reiki

I recently removed Reiki from my list of services and I wanted to take this opportunity to explain why. This month I attended my first Pranic Healing course and attained my Level One Pranic Healing certificate. The course blew me away and I found it so interesting to compare it to the form of Energy Medicine that I’m currently certified in and so familiar with (Eden Energy Medicine or EEM). The two modalities definitely speak the same language, but yet the approaches are very different. They are both grounded in so much science, ancient knowledge, and tradition. I truly feel like Pranic Healing is an amazing compliment to what I already do.

However, my feeling toward Reiki shifted a bit. For the past year, when I got new clients inquiring about Reiki I would intentionally steer them to other options that I felt were better suited to their issue. The biggest reason I kept Reiki on my website was that it is the “energy healing modality” that everyone knows. Everyone has heard of Reiki and just about every time I tell a stranger that I’m “an Energy Medicine Practitioner” their response is, “Oh, like Reiki?” And that is understandable. It’s the most mainstream because there are so many people doing it. And the reason for that is because it’s fast, cheap, and relatively easy to gain a Reiki attunement. I honestly just didn’t want to lose the search engine traffic on the word “Reiki,” but that is no longer a compelling enough reason to keep it on my website.

This month, during my Pranic Healing course I realized something so important that it rattled my cage. Pranic Healing is all about three things:

  1. Cleansing dirty energy
  2. Energizing with clean energy
  3.  Stabilizing the energy

The first one is the one that really hit me. It’s very important to clean the toxins out before you put energy in. This brings me back to year one of Eden Energy Medicine when we learned how important it was to determine if a meridian was over or under-energized. You can’t give more energy to an over-energized meridian. You must first sedate that energy in order to balance it. As I mentioned above, Eden and Pranic are so similar, but with slightly different approaches.

In Reiki (as far as I know) there is no removing of toxic or dirty energy. The premise of Reiki is to just send positive loving energy to various parts of the body. But now I fear that sending extra energy to areas that may be infected, in pain, or diseased may not be the best thing. I equate this to our lessons in EEM to never place the south side of a magnet on an open wound or on somebody that has cancer or any other tumors. The south side of a magnet will actually intensify the problem.

I’m not, in any way, saying or claiming that Reiki can be harmful, but I just don’t feel like it’s the best option of all the other services that I can offer. There are many other Reiki practitioners, especially in my community, so I feel that if somebody has their heart set on Reiki, they should see somebody that truly has their heart in it.

Kidneys Are the Foundation of Health and Vitality

Do you know how important your Kidneys are to your health and vitality?  Most people know that a major function of the kidneys is to remove waste products and excess fluid from the body. The kidneys also produce hormones that affect the function of other organs. The kidneys are powerful chemical factories that perform the following functions:

  • remove waste products from the body
  • remove drugs from the body
  • balance the body’s fluids
  • release hormones that regulate blood pressure
  • produce an active form of vitamin D that promotes strong, healthy bones
  • control the production of red blood cells

But in Chinese medicine, the Kidney (organ-meridian system AKA “the Root of Life”) is considered the foundation for good health and vitality. It is the source of the body’s constitutional or inherited energy.  This organ-meridian system governs the structural integrity and function, not only of the kidneys themselves but also:

  • brain
  • spinal cord
  • skeletal structure
  • body fluids
  • tissues (including bone marrow)
  • hormones
  • adrenals
  • sex glands
  • teeth
  • anus
  • urethra
  • inner ear

Interestingly, the areas governed by the Kidney system are fundamentally affected by the aging process, therefore reduced energy, declining hormone levels, impaired brain function, bone weakness, hearing loss, loose teeth, weakened immunity, incontinence, tissue dryness, and diminishing will power all seem to come with age. This can be why the first point on the Kidney meridian (known as K1) is also called “The Wellspring of Life” and can be the secret to anti-aging.

Kidney energy (traditionally called Qi and pronounced ‘chee) is progressively depleted with age. It is particularly vulnerable to exhaustion due to factors such as overwork, a hard-driven lifestyle, insufficient fluid intake, chronic illness, or stress. For most people by the age of 40, declining Kidney energy is beginning to impact on their health. If left unattended, imbalances in the Kidney meridian can manifest into conditions such as:

  • infertility
  • sexual dysfunction
  • menopause
  • prostate problems
  • impaired immunity
  • chronic inflammation
  • high blood pressure
  • heart irregularities
  • anxiety
  • loss of physical drive
  • poor concentration

The Kidneys are also the seat of courage and willpower, and therefore any impairment in Kidney meridian results in feelings of fear and paranoia. If you often have severe panic attacks, anxiety, and fear, your body may be trying to tell you that Kidney energy is running low or is imbalanced.

Four Ways to Keep Your Kidneys Healthy

  • Tapping your K27 points – Cluster your fingers together and pound with a fair amount of pressure on the points shown below. These are the endpoints of the Kidney Meridian. The meridian starts at the soles of your feet and end here. Stimulating these points brings vital energy to all the meridians.

  • Massage K1 acupressure points – As mentioned above, the Kidney meridian starts at the soles of your feet (pictures below). Massage these points deeply with your thumb or middle finger for about 10 seconds. This is the foundation of your energy resources and is critical to your energy level, as it provides Qi to all your other meridians. Massaging this point can help to heal poor memory, reduce agitation, anxiety, worry, and even madness.

  • Keep hydrated – Since the kidneys are particularly vulnerable to insufficient fluid intake, drinking plenty of water is critical to keeping them healthy.

  • Have your energies balanced by an energy practitioner – Couldn’t resist a little plug to come and see me for a full balancing of all your meridians.

Sensing Negative Energy in Your Body

reprint from www.healerslibrary.com

What is Negative Energy?

Negative energy is essentially what it sounds like. Your body has a natural energy rhythm and when your chakras are aligned, energy flows freely and directly throughout your body. When the energy in your body is negative, though, the flow of energy is not only disturbed but can bring physical and mental issues. Many people don’t know they have negative energy; they just think they are in a rut or funk. That is why learning how to spot negative or bad energy is so important.

What Does Negative Energy Do to Your Body?

Negative energy can have both physical and mental effects in the body. Because your body does not have a correct or positive energy flow when you are filled with negative energy, you may feel off. You may also experience pain in the body like headaches or stomach aches.

Learning the signs of negative energy is important. If you have negative energy trapped in your body, you may be wrongly diagnosing it without even knowing it.

What are the Signs of Negative Energy in the Body?

Signs of negative, bad energy are different for every person. You can work with a trained healer to identify your specific signs of negative energy, but it is also important to know a few general indicators of negative energy trapped in the body.

Physical and Mental Signs of Trapped Negative Energy:

  • Foggy mind
  • Feeling worn out and downtrodden
  • Headache
  • Stomach pain
  • Mood swings
  • Temper
  • Restlessness
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Impulsivity
  • Out of control emotions
  • See the world in a negative light

Who is Susceptible to Negative Energy?

People who may have experienced trauma and people who are suffering from depression are more susceptible to negative energy. If you are a trauma survivor or struggle with depression, watch yourself closely for signs of negative energy. Both trauma and depression affect your body in a way that can potentially allow more negative energy in, so it is important to always be on guard and to be actively seeking positive energy.

How to Rid Your Body of Negative Energy

Light drives out darkness, so it is best to start by combating negative energy with positive energy. When the negative energy leaves your body, you will need to fill its place with positive light to keep the negative energy away. Whether you do this on your own or with the advanced help of an experienced healer, there are several ways to push out the negative and fill your life with the positive.

Ways to Get Rid of Negative Energy:

  • Meditation
  • Self-care and self-compassion
  • Professional energy healing help
  • Yoga
  • Burn sage or use a smudge stick
  • Make a safe space in your home
  • Clean out the clutter
  • Use crystals to protect your space
  • Practice positive affirmations
  • Spend time in nature
  • Take a relaxing bath with salts and essential oils
  • Confront the negative energy head on

As you actively combat that bad energy, you will feel a weight being lifted from you. Contact me today to learn more about holistic healing and safe ways to combat rampant negative energy.

The Art of Energy Healing

This article is a re-post from Dr. Brad Nelson

Often times, people approach the energy healing arts with equal parts interest, curiosity, and skepticism. However, if you’ve ever experienced the power of holistic health care or known someone whose illnesses or ailments have been helped through alternative medicine, you know just how advantageous these practices can be. Though the art of holistic healing has been around for thousands of years, there are still many aspects of holistic medicine that take many by surprise. Energy healing, for example, is perhaps one of the most common forms of holistic medicine used today.

What is Energy Healing?

Energy Healing is an umbrella term for any type of treatment, practice, or method that uses the body’s natural energy flow to restore or maintain a healthy, holistic balance throughout the physical body. As an alternative means of healing, energy healing refers to the belief that aspects of physical, mental, and spiritual health can be treated by accessing and communicating with the subconscious. By using the mind-body connection to identify, access, balance, and manipulate the energies that promote healing and well-being, energy healing practices are able to access all aspects of the patient’s life, body, and mind to find a powerful, remedial solution.

Below are four uncommon facts about energy healing.

1. Muscle testing examines positive and negative energies
The human body lives and functions on principles of biomagnetic energy. While our conscious mind is typically unaware of these energies, our subconscious minds are both hyper-responsive and hyper-resistant to these natural energies and congruences. Fortunately, it’s also these energies that allow holistic practitioners to perform muscle testing. As outlined in The Emotion Code, by tapping into the subconscious mind through muscle testing, practitioners are able to find the root cause of ailments, illnesses, and decreased well-being.

2. Magnetic healing can be traced back more than 2,000 years
The history of magnetic healing traces back more than 2,000 years. In modern times, magnetic healing practices were commonly used in the late 1800’s as a means of detecting diseased tissue in the human body and healing the underlying imbalances. As concepts and theories have developed, the use of magnets in holistic healing continues to remain prevalent as modern practitioners use the body’s own magnetic energy and the energy from static magnets to treat and reduce pain.

3. Chakras offer a “Sixth Sense” into the subconscious
Think about all your eyes see in an hour; think about what they see in a day; a year; a lifetime; Now think about all your Third Eye Chakra sees. As the sixth of seven energy centers in your body, your Third Eye is responsible for connecting our conscious mind with our internal intuitions – our “sixth sense” – so to speak. It through this chakra that you are often able to connect with emotions, feelings, and experiences that happened in the past, yet continue to affect you in the present.

4. Energy Healing is based on scientific principles
One of the biggest misconceptions about alternative medicine is that there is no scientific basis backing its legitimacy. That, however, is simply false. As science has proven for many years, atoms such as hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen, exert their own energy and play a big role in maintaining a healthy mind-body balance. Furthermore, these atoms are also very susceptible to the vibrations given off by each emotion. If you experience a traumatic event, for example, you will actually be able to feel the energy vibrations being spurred from emotions like fear, sadness, anger, etc. Unfortunately, these experiences can affect the natural makeup of the body’s energy field and create an imbalanced energy flow throughout the body, also known as trapped emotions. By using energy healing methods, however, you can identify and release the energies and emotions that have become lodged in the body and maintain a healthy, holistic balance.
