I have to publicly admit . . . the concept of grounding was not something that I took seriously at the beginning of my journey to Energy Medicine. I used to think it sounded so “airy-fairy” and thought of it more from a psychological standpoint than from a physiological standpoint. I guess I thought it was very non-tangible. I mean how do you really know if you’re grounded or not? Can you feel the difference between when you’re grounded and when you’re not? Most people can’t and therefore it’s not something that they concern themselves with. If you had terrible headaches and you ran across an article that gave you the secret way to relieve those headaches you would pay attention. But if you’re unaware of whether or not you’re grounded, then why even pay attention to this concept?

Why is Grounding Important?

Well, let me try to explain why EVERYBODY needs to pay attention. Every “human being” is an “electrical being” and needs to be properly grounded in order to properly function. Now I get that this statement is hard to swallow or understand when you’ve never been taught that you are actually made of energy. Believe me when I tell you that science (the way you have known and understood it) is changing rapidly and this concept of electrical beings needing grounding is very important.

Much research has been conducted that demonstrates that direct contact with the Earth restores and stabilizes the bioelectrical circuitry that governs our physiology and organs, recharges and thins our blood, enhances our immune function, and powerfully and quickly knocks down inflammation and pain. Wow, imagine a pill that could do all that? How much would you pay for it?? The truth is that you don’t have to pay anything for it because it’s readily available from the Earth itself. Just being connected (touching) the earth gives us all these benefits.

We all know that the earth has magnet poles (a north and a south pole) right? Did you know that your body also has the same magnetic poles?

Having our bare feet on the ground literally “charges” our system with vital energies. Not only does this connection to the earth allow us to “suck up” fresh new energy, but it also allows us to expel dirty or toxic energies that we may have picked up. When this connection is not solid, we are not getting enough new energy, nor are we able to get rid of used energy. Just like our breath . . . we inhale and we exhale . . . likewise, we must intake energy and release energy. In order to do this efficiently, we must have a good connection to the earth.

One of the biggest reasons that my clients suffer from chronic fatigue and exhaustion is this lack of grounding. It is always the first thing that I check. Are they able to pull fresh new energy into their bodies? In today’s culture of wearing rubber-soled shoes (which prevent the natural grounding process) and not spending enough time outdoors in nature, sitting on the grass, hands in the dirt, touching trees and the ground we are losing our connection to the Earth, to our source of energy.

Some signs that you may not be grounded

  • Lacking energy, drained, or wake up feeling exhausted
  • Feeling anxious
  • Feeling spacey or lightheaded & easily overwhelmed
  • General discomfort
  • Have trouble listening or focusing, lose your train of thought, and constantly multi-tasking
  • Having trouble balancing
  • Too easily picking up other’s energy – extra emotional, or sensitive to the emotions of the people around you

Some benefits of grounding

This graphic came from Earthing.com. They sell an assortment of products to help you get and stay grounded inside of your home. Let’s face it, it’s not always easy to get outside, especially barefoot every day. I personally sleep on a grounding mattress pad and instantly could see a difference in how I slept and felt.

Please take some time to discover more about this concept of grounding. If you can’t make an effort to get outside every day, with a very small investment in some of the products (and no extra effort on your part), you may be able to significantly increase your health. Some alternative free and easy ways to ground

  • Rub a stainless steel spoon on the soles of your feet.
  • Tapping on your cheekbones (directly under your eyes) while taking three deep breaths.
  • Open foot chakras by pushing and stretching the heel away from the ball. Also squeeze sides of feet.
  • Open hand chakras by rubbing the thumbs on the palms and then pulling the energies off each finger.
  • Move hands over eyes and down the front of the body to the hips (in the field about 6″ from the body).
  • Press fingers firmly into arm creases for a few minutes.
  • Walk barefoot in the grass.
  • Sit or stand with your back up against a big healthy tree.
  • Wear or carry a dark or red crystal. Some good grounding stones include black tourmaline, bloodstone, hematite, jasper, obsidian, shungite, and tigers eye. Please know that if you own and use crystals it is very important to take good care of them.

The earth’s magnetic field is declining steadily and has lost over 30 percent of its strength over the last 2000 years. This may be causing a magnetic deficiency in many people. Did you know that astronauts who are cut off from the earth’s magnetic field will develop significant health problems unless they are provided an artificial magnetic field within the space capsule? Human beings have adapted to a certain strength of the earth’s magnetic field. At the moment this strength is declining at a rate that may exceed our capacity to cope.

Magnets and Health

The human body is profoundly responsive to electromagnetic fields. This is why we have MRI machines, treatments with pulsed electromagnets, and a slew of personal products that include magnets. I personally was able to completely heal myself of a terribly torn rotator cuff using nothing more than magnets . . . and a lot of knowledge of energy medicine 🙂

And that’s the trick with magnets. You need to know how to use them because the North side has very different effects on the human body as compared to the South side. The North polarity stabilizes, calms and sedates and also reduces pain, infection, and inflammation. South polarity, on the other hand, is acid producing, biologically disorganizing, and may accelerate bacteria growth. We were taught as practitioners to never put the South side of a magnet anywhere near somebody with cancer because it could cause the tumors to spread. Magnets with a South polarity should only be used under the care of a trained practitioner, yet the fact is when you buy most magnet therapy braces to be worn on the body, the manufacturers can’t even answer the simple question of “which pole is facing toward the body?”

Magnetized Water

The fact that our bodies consist mainly of water and that all our bodily processes are heavily dependent on water has lead to research into the possibility of using magnetized water to promote health and treat disease. Fresh, “virgin” water from a mountain stream is full of vitality. During its passage through contaminated soil, miles of iron or plastic pipe, and treatment plants where it is exposed to toxic chemicals it loses its vitality. By the time it comes out of the tap it is essentially lifeless. Place a bowl of pure spring water on the floor next to a bowl of tap water and see which one your dog instinctively goes to first. Too bad we don’t know how to use our bodies built-in intelligence like they do. Some researchers believe that the average city tap water may actually be harmful, not only because of its content of toxins but also because it has developed a polarity which is harmful to our health. Fortunately, recent research has shown that it is possible to regenerate water to its original healthy state by magnetizing it.

We have fully embraced the use of magnets for medicine diagnostics (MRI machines), but the use of magnets as treatments is still not widely accepted. There is very little doubt that our cells react like a tiny magnet throughout the body’s universe. Disturbance of this balance may bring on the dysfunction of the body that current tests and investigative tools are simply not sensitive enough to measure.

It may be decades before the science of magnetized water is fully understood. Mainstream medicine may discount magnetized water as “quackery,” but those in the forefront of magnetic research don’t agree. Research studies now support the fact that each of our cells possesses a small magnetic field, and therefore I personally find it logical that magnetic water can have a positive effect on our cells. Now I’m not suggesting that magnetized water is a magic cure-all, but I do believe that it can enhance our health. Not only does North pole-magnetized water have healing and anti-biotic type properties, but it provides increased alkalinity. Higher alkalinity can help to combat the negative biological acid environment caused by our modern-day meat-heavy diet and toxin-filled air.

Healing Benefits of Magnetized Water

Here are some of the reported health benefits of magnetized water:

  • Acidity and Other Digestive Disorders: Magnetized water reduces excess acidity and bile in the digestive system. It helps to regulate the movement of the bowels.
  • Kidney Stones: The use of magnetic water in urinary and kidney disorders has been documented. In scientific studies, magnetic water has been prescribed to persons suffering from renal calculus. An adult suffering from renal stone is advised to drink one-liter of magnetic water per day.
  • Low Blood Pressure and Nervous System: Magnetized water is also very beneficial for nervous disorders and treatment of blood pressure, especially low blood pressure. It gives a soothing and slightly sedative effect to the nerves, aids in clearing clogged arteries, and normalizes the circulatory system.
  • Asthma/Bronchitis: Magnetized water is helpful in the treatment of asthma, bronchitis, colds, coughs, and certain types of fevers.
  • Healing of Wounds: Magnetized water has been used as an external aid for washing swollen and sore eyes, wounds, eczema spots, etc. for quicker healing. In all types of eye infections, north pole magnetized water has healing and anti-biotic type properties.
  • Polarity of the human biofield – Like the Earth itself, our bodies have a North/South polarity and it is very common to have this polarity flip. When this happens it opens us up to a host of ailments. Drinking North facing magnetized water helps the body to maintain it’s proper polarity.

During the COVID shutdown, I started making my own coasters with magnets inserts. I have, of course, tested to ensure the North side of the magnet is facing up. I have been placing a large jar of water on the coaster every morning and then I use this jar to fill my drinking glass throughout the day. The water should remain on the magnet for at least 10-15 minutes before consuming for maximum benefits. To further boost any potential health benefits I also added some uplifting words to the glass jar such as “love, joy, & happiness.” This is again based on Dr. Emoto’s water experiment of the effects of words on water. A strong healthy aura is critical to maintaining a healthy body. Our aura is like a spacesuit, protecting us from negative and toxic energies in the environment. Most people have heard of an Aura, but I fear that some people may think it’s just a colorful band around our bodies that predicts our mood. We have all heard about aura photographs and those photos make it seem more like a party trick than an important component to our health.

Here are some facts about the aura

Our aura acts like a spacesuit. Its job is to protect the physical body and it does this by doing two very important things:

  1. It filters and screens harmful negative and/or toxic energies and tries to prevent them from entering the body
  2. It tries to attack harmonious energies to you

It can only perform those two functions if it’s healthy. If it is not strong and healthy you are much more vulnerable to negative energies from other people and things in the environment.

Here is the most interesting thing about the aura. It is directly connected to and predicts your level of health. A healthy aura = a healthy physical body. Illnesses are actually reflected in the aura BEFORE they manifest in the physical body. This image below (from a Bio-well GVD camera) shows a human aura. People trained in this technology can actually decode the specific physical ailment that is represented by the “holes” shown in this aura. A perfectly healthy aura would not have any gaps!

So how do you know if your aura is healthy? Here are some signs that your aura may need some help:

  • You easily overwhelmed in the presence of others
  • You are chronically ill
  • You are highly sensitive to the environment
  • You’re sensitive to electromagnetic energies
  • You are excessively frightened of life
  • You feel small or ignored
  • You are frail, pale, and weak
  • You have autoimmune disease
  • You have had a serious accident or NDE

Ways to Strengthen the Aura

First, I want to introduce you to one of the best Energy Medicine techniques strengthening the aura. This exercise is called the Celtic Weave and its part of Donna Eden’s Daily Energy Routine. This move pushes out and strengthens your Auric field. It weaves your aura together and attaches it to your body, which helps your body’s energy filters to operate with greater resilience and intelligence. And here are some other ways to help strengthen the aura:

  • Walk barefoot (especially in the grass)
  • Salt baths – Swimming in the ocean or soaking in a salt water bath greatly helps to cleanse the aura and draw out stress. Sea salt carries away negativity. Alternatively, you can give your body a sea salt scrub before taking a shower. It helps remove dead skin cells, refreshes your aura and draws out toxins.
  • Lots of lovely sunshine is known to feed and expand the aura. (Basically going to the beach ticks off #1-3.)
  • Flush the aura of negativity/toxins by drinking plenty of water.
  • Hold/wear a Labradorite crystal. It has been shown by Kirilian photography to heal tears in the auric field by preventing leakage. Also, Aqua Aura crystals are very good!
  • Essential Oils – A few drops of Vetiver applied to your belly button at night will help you from taking on too much of other people’s energy. Vetiver is very grounding. Vetiver also has a special relationship with your chakras and helps to bring them into alignment. Your chakra’s are directly connected to your aura.
  • Chanting the sound “Om” is an incredibly fast and efficient way to shift stuck, stagnant or negativity energy from your aura and physical body.
  • Flower Essences – Fringed violet and Angelsword: Fringed Violet is for treating damage to the aura where there has been shock, grief, or distress e.g. from abuse or assault. This remedy maintains psychic protection and is excellent for people who are drained by others or those who unconsciously absorb the physical and emotional imbalances of others. While Fringed Violet works to repair damage to the aura, Angelsword releases any energies that entered while the aura was open.

I will try to continue giving out helpful energy and immunity tips throughout this difficult time. Here are two more things you can do right now and every day to stay healthy. Both of these are directly related to the lungs and lung meridians.

But before I get into the two new tips, I just want to remind you that the #1 best and most effective thing you can do right now to boost your immunity is thumping your thymus. Using all of your fingertips or knuckles of one hand, tap or thump vigorously in the middle of your chest (as shown by the blue dot to the right) while taking 3 deep breaths. Do this several times a day, as often as you can. Don’t underestimate the power of this one point! This was just one of the immunity tips given in the previous newsletter. Click here to go back and reference all those tips.

Now onto some new lung-related tips. The first one is to massage or rub (with pressure) all the points that are circled below.

Rub not only the black dots but also the entire section down the midline of your upper chest. Some of these points may feel sore and if they are sore, that means they are clogged with toxins. The more you rub, the more toxins you will release.

For your second tip, we are going to rub the Lung Source Point. Hold one of your hands with the palm facing you. On the thumb side of the wrist crease, find the hollow between a tendon on the thumb side, the radial artery next to it, and the bone at the base of the hand. Hold the point (illustrated below) with gentle pressure for 2 to 3 minutes.

These points on both wrists will send energy directly from the lung meridians to the actual lung organs. They are a powerful source of energy to boost the lungs. I would use these points in a session if the lungs seemed under-energized, ill, or otherwise compromised, but holding these points can not harm you even if your lungs are healthy. In addition to simply holding the points, you can also tap them, rub them, trace Figure 8s over them, or spin a magnet over them.

And the last tip is “flushing the Lung meridian.” By “flushing” the meridian you are essentially rebooting it. It’s a strong stimulation of the meridian which will keep the flow of energy open and help to prevent blockages. Just about all meridians have a direct correlation to the organs that they are named after. So by keeping the Lung meridian healthy, this should, in turn, give a boost to the actual lungs. Don’t worry. It’s much easier than it sounds. Here is an illustration of where the meridian is located in the body.

All you need to do is “trace” that path (indicated by the red line) with the palm of your (other) hand. The trick is to trace the meridian backward (from its normal flow) once and then forward (in the same direction that the meridian normally flows) three times. To do this:

  1. Place your right hand right along the inside of your left thumb (near the nail bed)
  2. Slowly move your right hand up the inside of your arm, following that red line.
  3. Be sure you are rubbing the inside of your arm and continue the flow all the way up to your upper chest (where the red line stops on the illustration).
  4. This completes tracing the backward flow. You only do this once.
  5. Now place the palm of your right hand on your upper left chest (where you just ended step 3)
  6. Rub in the opposite direction down the same path until you get to the inside of your left thumb.
  7. Repeat tracing in this direction 3 times.
  8. Now repeat steps 1-7 on the right arm using your left hand.

This is an incredibly difficult time for everybody to get through and everybody is requesting immunity boosting tips for Covid-19. I realize that most of the world is being overtaken by fear and anxiety and unfortunately those are probably the two biggest threats to our health. We can take all the precautionary measures of staying home and practicing social distancing, but unfortunately, those things aren’t going to help us combat negative emotions. If, while we are staying home, we are glued to the news and obsessed with watching the charts and graphs continuing to rise indicating more and more infections, we are just setting ourselves up to lower our own immunity.

I realize that it’s very difficult not to obsess over this terrible situation, but I can tell you this . . . All the obsessing and worrying is not going to help the situation. Before I get into some specific energy medicine things you can do to help boost your immune system, I want to share a couple of resources that others have made available.

First, I want to share a video from everyone’s favorite mindfulness guru, Deepak Chopra. The title of this video is “Emotions Are More Contagious Than COVID-19.” The video is 25 minutes long, but I really urge you to take a break from the world news and watch this instead. It may be the most important thing you do today!

Now that you’ve got a grasp on how important emotions are during this pandemic, it’s time to focus on gratitude, forgiveness, joy, etc and our energetic entanglements. It’s time to become responsible for the energy we are putting out into the Universe, as well as be vigilant about what we decide to expose ourselves to. It’s a choice that you make. You can choose to put your awareness on whatever positive thing you can find. And how can you do that? In one word, meditation.

I have a list of immunity-boosting tips, but I’m going to start with the most important one. There is nothing more powerful you can do to boost your immunity right now than to set aside some time every day for meditation, where you can focus on gratitude. There are many free resources online for guided meditations on Amazon music, Youtube, etc. If you can’t find or don’t want to use guided meditation, just sit quietly and focus on deep breathing. Every time you take a deep breath in, mentally say “I am grateful for my health.” Breath out, and then on your next deep breath in, come up with another thing you are grateful for. Just repeat this process and please know that you can be grateful for things that have not even happened yet. For instance, you can be grateful for “The Covid-19” virus subsiding in my city, state, country, the world.”

Another great resource is to utilize an energy psychology tool called tapping. It’s easy to do and very powerful. This is probably one of the most powerful energy medicine procedures that you can do for yourself, right at home, without the need to really understand how it works. Just do it!

The next best, quickest, and easiest immunity boost is thumping your thymus. This really gives a boost to your immune system. Here is a new immunity boost that I just learned. It is related to “grounding.” Remember, grounding is key to good health. We must stay grounded to the earth in order to stay healthy. It is our foundation! For a refresher on things to help get you grounded, click here. To do this new exercise:

  1. Activate the Earthly flow of energy from beneath you by stretching your arms straight down and pointing both hands downward to beneath your feet. Focus your attention about 3 feet below the ground.
  2. Breathe in and mentally pull the energy up from the ground and into your feet and legs. Imagine it traveling up your calves, knees, thighs, hips.
  3. Follow the motion of this energy with your hands and as it enters your central column through the midline of your body. Raise both hands (fingers pointed towards the ground) to be level with the energy as it rises up. When your hands/energy are at the level of your Crown Center (top of head), point your fingers upward as your arms stretch up and hands ascend above your head.
  4. When your arms are at full extension, with the fingers of both hands above your head pointing up, move your arms down around your sides of your body, pointing outward. Keep your arms fully extended and bring your arms back down to your sides.
  5. At the bottom of the movement, your fingers are pointing to below your feet – where you started the exercise. Repeat the complete movement, bringing the energy up from the ground, to over your head, and sweep it down your sides for 7 complete cycles.

Now for something totally different and impossible to explain. Just keep an open mind and know that you have nothing to lose by giving this a try. Please know that I believe 100% in the magic of something called “Biogeometry” and I am throwing myself completely into studying more about it. Then print out and cut out a small photograph of yourself and tape it to the center of the printout. Make sure it fits in the middle and doesn’t cover any of the symbols (as shown below).

Please try to remain calm, be smart, stay home, and know that this too will pass. We will all get through it, we will learn a lot, and come out on the other side better human beings. I am currently reading a wonderful book on the Chakra System called “Eastern Body Western Mind – Psychology and the Chakra System as a Path to the Self” by Anodea Judith. This book is like the bible of the chakra system and the author is a well-known expert on the topic. Even with my extensive knowledge of the chakras from my Eden Energy Medicine and Pranic healing training, I am still learning so much. I consider Anodea to be one of the foremost experts in the field of chakras so when I noticed that she recommended mandalas as a way to balance the Third Eye chakra, I sat up and took notice.

The word mandala is Sanskrit and means literally “circle.” Mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe and are symbols that reflect wholeness. The circular designs symbolize the idea that life is never-ending and everything is connected. Mandalas are often used as instruments of meditation because the designs help to remove irritating thoughts and allow the creative mind to run free as well as relax.

In Hinduism and Buddhism, the belief is that by entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center, you are guided through the cosmic process of transforming the universe from one of suffering into one of joy and happiness. You can use mandalas when you mediate to help calm and center the body and mind.

How to use the mandalas in meditation

To bring about inner transformation, first, select a mandala that strongly appeals to you. Next, focus on the intention that you want to bring into your life while you take in the beautiful design of the mandala by gently gazing at it. If your mind starts to drift simply bring it back to the beautiful design. The beauty of the mandala should absorb all your attention and it should gradually start to relax you.

To make it even easier to focus all of your attention on the mandala try coloring the design with colored markers or pencils. You will be amazed at how much a simple act can immediately calm your nervous system.

One of the biggest and most common health concerns is managing our weight. It is becoming a very large challenge because there are so many things working against us. Our food industry, with the never-ending additives, preservatives, and processed foods, seems to be on a mission to keep us unhealthy and overweight and maintaining a healthy weight becomes a struggle for all of us. But here is a unique look at managing your weight that I’m betting not many people haven’t considered . . .

What would you say if I told you that your thoughts are controlling your metabolism? And that you might be able to control your weight with your mind? I’m not suggesting that you lay on the couch and imagine you’re running a marathon (however, that has also been scientifically proven to be effective), but instead just reframe your mind when it comes to eating.

One study that I read a long time ago was about simply being grateful for the food that you are about to consume. Religious people have known this for centuries and that is why many say grace before eating. But taking the religion out of the equation, simply being present and grateful for the food you consume reframes your mindset around eating. Just imagine all that had to happen for that food to be on your plate . . . all the people that had something to do with it getting to you. Thank them all, thank Mother Nature and the farmers for growing it, thank the truck drivers that hauled it to your local store, thank the clerks at the store and everyone else you can think of. Thank your employer for giving you the paycheck that allowed you to purchase the food. Putting yourself in a state of gratitude before your first bite will make a big difference in how your body responds to the food. Also, note that it is much better for your body to be happy and joyful about the pasta and meatballs that you’re about to eat rather than suck down kale smoothies all day as you’re stressed out and pissed off.

This time of year it’s even more challenging to stay healthy. We don’t get outside as much, we have less light, and the winter blues can take a toll on us emotionally. It’s more important than ever to tend to your energetic health. Now, you are ready to add another step. These moves are so easy that it’s impossible to find an excuse not to do them! Are you ready? This time we are going to simply thump our upper chest. Bunch up all of your fingers so that all the fingers tips are touching.

and then thump on your upper chest just below your collarbone.

These points on your chest can be found by moving straight down from the eyes to the hollow area below the collarbone as shown below. Continuously thump these points while taking 3 deep breathes.
