This is the third season in a row that I slipped into some sort of “Fall Funk.” My body is so consistent that I can almost set my calendar (if there was such a thing as setting a calendar) to my body getting thrown off balance. The first time it happened I just suffered through it, counting down the days until I go away to Mexico to escape the end of a Maine winter. Nothing cures all of my physical issues like that remedy! Works like a charm every year.

The second time it happened (last year), I decided that I need to take action. So I started digging into possible imbalances. I even did a lot of private work with a much more advanced Eden Energy Medicine practitioner. Together we found all sorts of energetic causes for all my symptoms, which included: insomnia, severe constipation, excessive dryness (skin, hair, eyes, mouth), not to mention painful sores on my fingers. We discovered that I had a major elemental imbalance in my Metal element and worked for months to try to fix it. I was completely fascinated by the clues that my body was giving me to explain what was going on “under the hood.”

Last year I managed to control the symptoms pretty well, but I still suffered from insomnia and constipation and it lasted from Oct until I got to Mexico in late February. This year the entire process started all over again and, with my new knowledge of the problem I declared that my ‘Metal imbalance’ was starting again and I worked hard on balancing both my Lung and Large Intestine meridians. Just so you know, imbalances in these meridians will keep you awake from 3am – 7am. I tried all of my usual tricks but was still forced to take sleeping supplements that sadly never really totally worked.

Here’s where the story gets crazy. Last week I taught Part 3 of my “Intro to Energy Medicine” class. During this class, I was introducing the concept of trapped emotions and how they can wreak havoc on the body. Just for demonstration purposes I found and released one emotion from my own body. I always explain to clients that the body is infinitely intelligent and it will always pick the emotions in a prioritized order, meaning the most detrimental emotions will come up first. So during my demo, my body identified Grief as the emotion that it wanted to release. My first thought was, “That’s odd, I don’t think I have any grief.” I am quite a happy person and was not consciously dealing with any grief. But hey, I never question Universal intelligence.

As I’m going ahead with my demo, I discovered that it was a recent emotion that I was dealing with. While I was releasing the emotion it occurred to me that Grief is processed in the Lungs and the Lung meridians are in their “high tide” during 3-5AM. This was always the timeframe in which I awoke every single day. I shared this tidbit of knowledge with the class and thought nothing more of it.

Until . . .

I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm. I actually slept like a baby!!! For the first time in over a month, I slept all night. It was glorious, but was it a fluke? It has been almost a full week since releasing that one emotion and I have slept straight through the night every single night with no sleeping aids what-so-ever.

And then it really hit me. The Grief that I suffer from every Fall must be because I don’t want Summer to end. I hate “letting go” of Summer (which is a major Metal element thing. Metal is all about Grief and Not Being Able to Let Go.) This Fire Element is all about the Summer and she really hates to see it go. Watching my husband put away all the outdoor furniture and winterize our yard has been really hard on me. As much as I love the beauty of fall I can’t handle the end of summer. And this explains why all my symptoms go away when I get to Mexico . . . where it’s always summer.

Never underestimate the power of one single emotion!

There are many myths surrounding Energy Medicine that I want to debunk. The more knowledge you have about this powerful healing modality the healthier you can be. Recently Dr. Bradley Nelson shared an article that I want to, in turn, share . . .

In a society where modern medicine is the norm and big pharma companies are getting bigger, holistic wellness techniques can be easily overshadowed or discounted. In past years, subscribing to solutions that might be considered “unorthodox” could earn you the label of being “strange” or “unconventional.” The times, however, seem to be changing.

Though people have used complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) for thousands of years, research from institutions like the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) and the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) indicates that there is a growing percentage of Americans who are taking their personal health and well-being into their own hands with a more holistic and alternative approach. In fact, statistics show that over a third of the American population seek alternative ways to relieve pain from chronic conditions, improve overall health, and relieve stress. One popular method for CAM is energy healing.

What is Energy Healing?

Energy healing is intended to tune into the body’s frequencies and the subconscious mind in order to pinpoint the stressors, thoughts, and emotions impeding our overall health and wellbeing. Through energy healing, practitioners are reputed to use heightened levels of consciousness and even spirituality to help their clients achieve a mind-body balance that may aid in overall wellness and alleviate many health concerns.

Though it’s been practiced for millennia, many people remain skeptical of energy healing or don’t fully understand it. Energy healing isn’t about magic crystals, incense, and chanting. In fact, energy healing is now being taken seriously by health practitioners across all realms of medicine and is considered a legitimate practice and profession by growing numbers of people around the globe.
Like the aforementioned “magic crystals and incense” myth, there are several common misconceptions about energy healing. After debunking these common myths, you might find that energy healing can benefit you in ways that more traditional methods might not.

Myth #1: There’s no science behind energy healing

One of the biggest energy healing myths is that there is no science behind it and that it’s all pretense. However, that is simply not the case. Along with leading institutions like the NCCAM and NCHS, the NIH’s National Center for Complementary Health (NCCIH) has spent years conducting scientifically-backed research about the potential effectiveness, quality, and benefits of energy healing. Through these studies, researchers have found that energy healing may be used to improve the immune system, reduce pain, facilitate and speed recovery, and much, much more. You can learn more about the science here.

Myth #2: Energy healing requires you to be religious

Simply put, energy healing is designed to activate the body’s energy systems and remove any negative energies or blocks that may prevent self-healing. In no way does this process require you to subscribe to a particular religion in which you believe in a God. Rather, energy healing is about trusting in a power bigger than yourself (what matters is its significance to you, not whether it’s religious or not) and balancing the energies within your body and mind.

Myth #3: Energy therapy is massage therapy

Though massage therapists might use energy healing techniques in their practice, energy healing is not a massage. Some types of energy healing involve the practitioner conducting a series of hand movements over your body, with the intent of keeping up with the flow of energy. Some other methods may include applying magnets to the meridians of the body, or muscle testing. In no way do these practices involve physically manipulating or massaging your tissues.

Myth #4: Only certified practitioners can apply energy techniques

While using a certified practitioner is very beneficial, there are several ways you might achieve energy wellness for yourself. By starting off visiting an energy practitioner, you should be able to learn many tips and techniques from him or her that you can practice on your own at home. The more professional sessions you receive, the more you will learn to do.

Myth #5: Energy therapy exhausts your own energy

One common myth is that an energy practitioner can transfer energies out of your body and leave you feeling exhausted. But instead, our premise is that energy practitioners work to remove energetic imbalances in order to create better balance and leave you feeling better, not depleted. While there can be some temporary discomfort from processing after an energy healing session (such as high emotions or lethargy), we believe the result is worth it.

Myth #6: Energy healing is a new, modern practice

The practice of energy healing has been around for thousands of years. Prior to the introduction of western medicine, hospitals, and specialized doctors, many turned to the local medicine woman or shaman to maintain or improve health. These primitive practitioners would use an array of techniques in an effort to align their patients’ energies and enhance the body’s own recovery abilities. Even today, traditional Chinese medicine incorporates and relies on the use of chakras, channels, and meridians to influence health and well-being.

My biggest issue with mainstream “Western” medicine is the lack of viewing the body as a whole interconnected unit. Everything is connected and so many things affect so many other things that treating individual body parts or individual organs is not the best course of action. I want to illustrate this by sharing a story from my own recent self-care.

Lately, I’ve been struggling with my vision. It recently seemed to have gotten much worse. Yes, I just turned 51 and most people would simply chalk it up to ‘old age,’ but I knew that wasn’t the case. And I knew this because my vision is never consistent. I can go from getting by reading my emails on my phone with no glasses to putting glasses on and still not being able to focus on anything. Every time I blink my vision changes. This is just not normal and how can I possibly get my eyeglass prescription updated when I’m chasing a moving target.

In addition to the sudden onset of crazy vision, I’ve also noticed my heart occasionally fluttering with strange irregular and strong heartbeats and a feeling of fatigue that I almost never have. Now any of these sudden changes in health would make me sit up and take notice, but all of them at the same time made me take action.

If I went to see an eye doctor they would have had quite the challenge to correct my poor vision because the problem was not in my eyes! And if I went to see a general medicine doctor, he or she would have probably sent me to a heart specialist for tests, which I’m betting would have resulted in some prescription drugs. I probably also would have been prescribed something different for the fatigue. But since I’m blessed with the amazing ability to read my subconscious mind and get answers to my health issues, I used the Body Code system to inquire what the underlying causes were of these problems. I first asked specifically about my eyes and the first answer that I got was an imbalance in an organ. Upon further investigation, I determined that I had an imbalance in my liver. This came as no surprise because I used to see an acupuncturist in the past specifically to treat my liver. This has been a known issue for me. But here’s where it gets interesting. I did a google search on the connection between the liver and the eyes and here’s what I found on a Chinese Medicine website:

“The eyes are the sensory organ related to the Liver. If you have any eye issues, including blurry vision, red or dry eyes, itchy eyes, it may be a sign deep down that your Liver is not functioning smoothly.”

The bad news is that not only is my vision poor, but my eyes are so dry I sometimes can’t keep them open. But the good news is that I was able to get this answer in 30 seconds using my pendulum and the Body Code system. I was so excited that I continued the process and asked what else was contributing to the problem. The next thing I was lead to was ‘a nutritional imbalance’ and this time I discovered that I had a Magnesium deficiency. Back to google I went and this is what I found on the US National Library of Medicine’s website:

“People with fatty liver disease are at high risk of magnesium deficiency.”

My pendulum never ceases to amaze me and I was told in the past that I did have a ‘fatty liver!’ So with this knowledge that my liver is clearly acting up again and it’s causing a severe magnesium deficiency, I’ve started some daily liver Energy Medicine self-care tricks and I also started to take 2 doses of Magnesium per day. And here’s just a sample of how mysterious the Universe works . . . without going out and looking for a book, I just happened to stumble upon a great deal on audiobooks (through an email subscription that I almost NEVER open). I bought a book by Anthony Williams called “Liver Rescue” and in only 3 days, it has opened up so much knowledge to me that I’m stunned. The irregular heartbeat is directly linked to my poor suffering liver, as is the fatigue and now I understand exactly why it’s all happening. I will save the detailed explanation for future stories.

It’s only been one week since I made these discovers and started a new “energy medicine routine” to care for my liver. This routine includes some simple holding of points on my feet, using a tuning fork on special parts of my body, and pranic healing sessions. For the record . . . I’m TYPING THIS ON MY LAPTOP WITH NO GLASSES. It’s also been two days without a single irregular heartbeat and today I finally feel like myself again. My energy level is back to where it should be. I am confident that I will get this situation under control quickly, without any drugs, and using only Energy Medicine techniques and a targeted liver-supporting diet. So grateful for my pendulum and Anthony Williams!

A little footnote: The Body Code System is made by the same doctor that created The Emotion Code System. I am a Certified Emotion Code practitioner, but I am not certified in the Body Code. I own it and I know how to use it, but I don’t advertise the service. If you are curious about any of your own issues and would like to get some answers, please inquire by clicking the button below.

I recently removed Reiki from my list of services and I wanted to take this opportunity to explain why. This month I attended my first Pranic Healing course and attained my Level One Pranic Healing certificate. The course blew me away and I found it so interesting to compare it to the form of Energy Medicine that I’m currently certified in and so familiar with (Eden Energy Medicine or EEM). The two modalities definitely speak the same language, but yet the approaches are very different. They are both grounded in so much science, ancient knowledge, and tradition. I truly feel like Pranic Healing is an amazing compliment to what I already do.

However, my feeling toward Reiki shifted a bit. For the past year, when I got new clients inquiring about Reiki I would intentionally steer them to other options that I felt were better suited to their issue. The biggest reason I kept Reiki on my website was that it is the “energy healing modality” that everyone knows. Everyone has heard of Reiki and just about every time I tell a stranger that I’m “an Energy Medicine Practitioner” their response is, “Oh, like Reiki?” And that is understandable. It’s the most mainstream because there are so many people doing it. And the reason for that is because it’s fast, cheap, and relatively easy to gain a Reiki attunement. I honestly just didn’t want to lose the search engine traffic on the word “Reiki,” but that is no longer a compelling enough reason to keep it on my website.

This month, during my Pranic Healing course I realized something so important that it rattled my cage. Pranic Healing is all about three things:

  1. Cleansing dirty energy
  2. Energizing with clean energy
  3.  Stabilizing the energy

The first one is the one that really hit me. It’s very important to clean the toxins out before you put energy in. This brings me back to year one of Eden Energy Medicine when we learned how important it was to determine if a meridian was over or under-energized. You can’t give more energy to an over-energized meridian. You must first sedate that energy in order to balance it. As I mentioned above, Eden and Pranic are so similar, but with slightly different approaches.

In Reiki (as far as I know) there is no removing of toxic or dirty energy. The premise of Reiki is to just send positive loving energy to various parts of the body. But now I fear that sending extra energy to areas that may be infected, in pain, or diseased may not be the best thing. I equate this to our lessons in EEM to never place the south side of a magnet on an open wound or on somebody that has cancer or any other tumors. The south side of a magnet will actually intensify the problem.

I’m not, in any way, saying or claiming that Reiki can be harmful, but I just don’t feel like it’s the best option of all the other services that I can offer. There are many other Reiki practitioners, especially in my community, so I feel that if somebody has their heart set on Reiki, they should see somebody that truly has their heart in it.

What’s the difference between Eden Energy Medicine and Pranic Healing?

Eden Energy and Pranic Healing are both forms of Energy Medicine and to be honest, in many ways, they are very similar. After taking my first Pranic healing course and seeing just how similar they were, it occurred to me that it may be confusing for clients to decide which type of service they should request so I’m going to try to explain in this blog post . . .

Eden Energy and Pranic Healing are both built on the same basic principals.

How fast we can heal from any illness or disease is determined by how much Prana (or life force energy) we have in our bodies. Increasing our levels of energy helps our bodies to do their job and heal themselves. We naturally get this energy in many ways, the three biggest sources for replenishing this life force energy is through the sun, the air and the earth. Other things that bring fresh healthy energy to us include food, minerals, water, herbs, etc. Many of these same elements that bring us healthy energy can also contaminate us with unhealthy (or negative) energy. If the air you breathe is polluted, you get too much exposure to the sun, the water you drink is treated with chemicals, the foods you eat are processed and full of sugar and additives you are depleting your body of its life force energy.

All living things have an energy body that surrounds and protects the physical body, including animals, trees and plants. There is a direct link between the health of our physical bodies and the health of our energy body. When there are disturbances and imbalances in the energy body it will manifest in the physical body. It’s just a matter of time.

So what is the difference?

Eden Energy Medicine focuses on accesses the bodies’ various energy systems. Through a series of muscle tests, we can determine which meridians are over and under-energized, which chakras may be congested, which organs are depleted, and whether or not emotional upset is causing physical conditions. Eden Energy Medicine covers all aspects of the nine energy systems that make up the human body. During what are called “Energy Tracking Sessions” you are tested and balanced where needed and by tracking where your energy tends to go and how long it stays balanced gives off many clues to what is causing physical problems.

Important points on EEM

  • hands-on approach
  • includes a series of testing to determine the exact imbalances
  • longer sessions (1 – 1.5 hours)
  • best suited for long-standing chronic conditions
  • usually requires multiple sessions
  • clinical in natural
  • commitment on the clients part to maintain with self-care at home
  • client must be present

Pranic Healing only focuses on the energy field, primarily on the chakras. All problems in the physical body relate back to one or more of the chakras, which are the “energy centers” of the body. Pranic healing is a non-touch approach, where all work is done in the energy field over the body (or from remote distances where the healer and practitioner are not together in the same room). Pranic Healing uses a cookbook approach to healing different ailments. There is a protocol (similar to a recipe) for all sorts of ailments ranging from simple aches and pains to serious diseases. There are also many remedies for trauma and anxiety. Pranic Healing can produce results in the shortest amount of time with the least amount of effort.

Important points on Pranic Healing

  • no touch approach
  • very little testing
  • 30 minutes sessions
  • best opportunity for the quickest results in the fewest amount of sessions
  • bridge to spirituality – meditation and prayer is used to perform healings
  • nothing for client to do as homework
  • can be done in person or from a distance

When I came to Mexico a few years ago for my first sabbatical, I stumbled across a Pranic Healing center. Well, I didn’t exactly “stumble across it.” My awesome real estate agent (ahora mi amiga) told me about it. I became instantly fascinated by it and it definitely fueled this entire “energy journey” that I’ve been on ever since. This center offers courses on how to learn Pranic Healing and one of the courses being offered that year was “Pranic Energy Facials.” And can you guess how and why Crystal Energy Facials were the first thing I got certified in as soon as I got home? All of these Pranic healing courses here in Mexico are taught in Spanish (but of course) and my desire to learn the language also got ratcheted up.

Sadly, I still don’t know enough Spanish to take some of these courses during my stay, but this week I ventured to the healing center for my very first Pranic experience. The center offers donation-based healings once a week and with the help of my Spanish-speaking friend, I got an appointment with an English-speaking healer.

I had no idea what I was going to tell them as far as what I wanted “healed.” I’m in pretty great energetic shape because I work on it every single day. I was just curious about the process and decided to let them do whatever they wanted to do. How thrilled was I when the practitioner told me that her most profound healings come from the Pranic facials? She said it’s much more about “healing the soul” than vanity. It sounded like a huge double win to me so I was in!

So the first thing that I learned was there are 5 basic Wounds of the Soul:

  1. Rejection
  2. Injustice
  3. Abandonment
  4. Betrayal
  5. Humiliation

And these wounds show up on our faces. The healings work by removing the energy of the wounds from the Soul and thereby that removes the physical lines from the face. The skin appearing younger is just a side effect of removing the deep emotional wounds. It’s very different than what I was taught and it really made me start to think . . . Up until now, I treated my Crystal Facials as being very separate from my other healing modalities. I’ve been pitching them as relaxation and vanity, with a side effect of balancing your bodies energies. But now I realize that everything is connected and the one common denominator to everything I do is ‘emotions’ and emotional energy! Before I get too sidetracked, let me get back to the facial story . . .

My practitioner told me that my wounds were rejection and injustice and that I didn’t have any of the other wounds. This sounded pretty accurate to me and I was already impressed.

And so my first Pranic healing facial begins.

An important part of the procedure is listening to a special meditation. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t always hear the words. I knew how important it would be for me to actively participate, as fully as possible, and so I did my very best to meditate and assist with the healing process using my own energy and intention. (My next priority is to pick the perfect meditation to add to my facials!)

It was the most bizarre thing I’ve ever experienced and was nothing like the crystal energy facials that I perform. I had two young ladies “working on me” and they were approximately 6 feet away during most of it. No hands nor crystals ever touched my body or my face. I have to say, I was (at first) a little disappointed because I longed to know how it feels to have the blissful hour of massage and touch that I provide.

But then it was over and we went out into the hallway to talk about “what they found.” I was completely and utterly blown away. The healer gave me information related to my chakras that was dead on. I am very intimately knowledgeable about my own body’s energy and I just couldn’t believe the things that this woman discovered about me in this one session, without ever touching or energy testing me. (Again, so different from my training.) Without getting too personal and listing all the things that came up, she basically listed every single physiological issue that I’m currently working on, as well as things that I wasn’t aware of that made total sense. For instance that in my 2nd chakra I had “blocked feminine energy” and I have a really hard time seeing myself as beautiful. Dead on – from the girl who still doesn’t know how to do hair and makeup and just knew that I would have had zero mother skills.

Not only do I think my face does look younger, but I feel great. As if the physical results on my face weren’t enough proof for me that something was indeed happening during the session, I could feel the energy moving. I seem to be a very sensitive barometer of energy. My pendulum skills are downright spooky and I can immediately feel the energy in my left arm and hand. Almost immediately at the start of the session, my usual small intestine acupressure point started ‘firing’ and my left arm got numb and tingly. At the end of the session, I also had my usual pain in my left-hand large intestine source point and pressure in my pointer finger.

I was given a list of things to do for the rest of the day (in Spanish and kudos to me for understanding them all). One interesting instruction was to “clear the energy in my space” that night. This was because I would be releasing a lot of the negative energies that were removed during the session. Well, let me tell you, I had one challenging day and night after I left the center. It seemed everything went wrong and my spirits were low. Thank goodness I could just walk over to the mirror to be happy again ? The next morning I woke up feeling great.

This is very difficult to share – a bad photo of me with very little makeup on and it’s not too useful without the “before” photo, but trust me when I tell you, my forehead doesn’t normally look like this, which is why my hair is always covering it. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen my forehead this smooth. And the deep creases around my mouth were even relaxed. I was told that those were specifically caused by trauma (which also makes a lot of sense given my life experiences).

Needless to say that I will be investigating more about Pranic Energy Healing. It’s a bit tough to do in the US, but where there’s a will there’s a way. I am determined to add to my knowledge and somehow fuse my current hands-on Crystal Sonic Rejuvenation (that incorporates sound healing) with Pranic healing techniques . . . and if I do, the folks in the Midcoast of Maine will be in for a treat!

There are no greater lessons than the ones that I learn from my own body. Energy tracking my own energy is something that I take very seriously. I am so grateful for my ability to do so and consider it one of my most valuable tools and assets in this life.

The winter months have always proven to be very challenging for me and one of the biggest reason that I finally nailed down a permanent “escape route.” I don’t travel down to Mexico simply because I love the beach or I hate the snow. Neither of those statements is actually true. I travel to Mexico to help my body regain balance – to stop the pain and the symptoms that I suffer from. But I’m tired of running away from my problems. I’m ready to fix them once and for all.

It’s now been several consecutive years of my health taking a nose dive right around Thanksgiving. It’s been quite a mystery why this happens and, up until now, I never had any means of getting to the bottom of it. From excruciating skin ulcers on my fingers and extreme constipation and thirst to nagging sciatica pain on one side . . . I struggled year after year with no relief in sight. But this year has been different. This year I have the knowledge of Eden Energy Medicine and a huge toolbox of remedies to help out. Instead of focusing on finding a proper diagnosis or the “name” for my condition I instead tried to get to the deep underlying causes for the symptoms.

We are so accustomed to Western Medicine that treats the part of the body that you are complaining about. I went to the doctor about one of these problems (sores on my fingers) many years ago. My primary doctor noticed it was a “skin problem” and sent me to a dermatologist, who cut an entire sore out of my finger (hurt so bad I nearly passed out in the office) and sent it off to a lab to get that all important “diagnosis” which resulted in “there’s nothing we can do either prevent the sores or help them heal once you get them.” Well, that was helpful. Nobody took it a step further to uncover what’s causing the condition in the first place.

This was my year to play detective and I discovered that the sores on my fingers were caused by imbalances in meridians and organs, the biggest culprit being my Large Intestine! I know what you’re thinking . . . what on Earth would the Large Intestine have to do with skin problems on the fingers? Let’s just say, the answer to that question is complicated, but the path that led to this conclusion was like a game. It started with me looking at which fingers were affected and matching them up with the meridians that ran through them. It was a complete ah-ha moment and as soon as I made this discovery I began energy balancing techniques on the culprit meridians. I was able to completely control those sores stop them in their tracks. Instead of the normal three-week cycle of them growing increasingly larger and more sensitive, they actually started to retreat. I am over the moon to announce that this has been the first year since the condition first started (more than 15 years ago) that I have not had to resort to bandaging most of the fingers on my right hand for most of the winter. NOT EVEN A BANDAID WAS USED THIS SEASON. Nobody can understand the power of that statement without living a day in my life during the winter. It’s huge!

I read so many clues and learned so much about my body this season. Small things like the fact that everything occurs on one side of the body is a big clue. Left side (Yin side) holds your experiences (past), your emotional self, your memories, and emotional joy or pain. The right side is the Yang side and it organizes and moves you forward into the future. It governs how you interact with the world and indicates that you may be experiencing unwanted change that is causing fear, reluctance, or trepidation. I marvel at the wisdom of this one. I take this as me not wanting to say goodbye to Autumn and NOT being ready to deal with the cold.

More things that I learned this year is that I have an imbalance in my entire Metal element (which corresponds to the Autumn – the exact time of the year that my problems occur every year). This imbalance perfectly explains the problem that I have sleeping at this time of the year. Knowing WHY things are happening in your body is incredibly empowering. In my case, I have the tools to control and fix the imbalances and for that, I am truly grateful. I almost look forward to things going wrong just for the thrill of fixing them.

I want to share a couple of images with you that I created to explain illness, the root cause of it, and how we can uncover it. Imagine a huge iceberg with only the very tip sticking out of the water that you can see. The small part that sticks out is the actual pain, illness, or disease. But what’s under the water . . . the part that you can’t see is the root cause of it.

Now let’s use that same image, but instead of thinking about the iceberg in terms of the illness or disease, let’s imagine that it’s our brain. We only use a tiny percentage of our overall intelligence with our conscious mind. What’s below the surface is our subconscious mind and that’s where all the answers are. Our subconscious minds store all the data about our bodies and by tapping into that intelligence we can uncover things that traditional medical tests can not.

If you only treat the tip of the iceberg (also known as the symptom or the disease) you never really get to the root of the problem. Often times this results in the issue resurfacing at some point down the road. What if you could use the untapped portion of your brain, the subconscious mind, to reveal the true hidden causes behind your problems? Wouldn’t that be amazing? What if I told you that I could help you do just that? Would you be curious to enough to book a free consultation? Just click the button below to contact me.

This article is a re-post from Dr. Brad Nelson

Often times, people approach the energy healing arts with equal parts interest, curiosity, and skepticism. However, if you’ve ever experienced the power of holistic health care or known someone whose illnesses or ailments have been helped through alternative medicine, you know just how advantageous these practices can be. Though the art of holistic healing has been around for thousands of years, there are still many aspects of holistic medicine that take many by surprise. Energy healing, for example, is perhaps one of the most common forms of holistic medicine used today.

What is Energy Healing?

Energy Healing is an umbrella term for any type of treatment, practice, or method that uses the body’s natural energy flow to restore or maintain a healthy, holistic balance throughout the physical body. As an alternative means of healing, energy healing refers to the belief that aspects of physical, mental, and spiritual health can be treated by accessing and communicating with the subconscious. By using the mind-body connection to identify, access, balance, and manipulate the energies that promote healing and well-being, energy healing practices are able to access all aspects of the patient’s life, body, and mind to find a powerful, remedial solution.

Below are four uncommon facts about energy healing.

1. Muscle testing examines positive and negative energies
The human body lives and functions on principles of biomagnetic energy. While our conscious mind is typically unaware of these energies, our subconscious minds are both hyper-responsive and hyper-resistant to these natural energies and congruences. Fortunately, it’s also these energies that allow holistic practitioners to perform muscle testing. As outlined in The Emotion Code, by tapping into the subconscious mind through muscle testing, practitioners are able to find the root cause of ailments, illnesses, and decreased well-being.

2. Magnetic healing can be traced back more than 2,000 years
The history of magnetic healing traces back more than 2,000 years. In modern times, magnetic healing practices were commonly used in the late 1800’s as a means of detecting diseased tissue in the human body and healing the underlying imbalances. As concepts and theories have developed, the use of magnets in holistic healing continues to remain prevalent as modern practitioners use the body’s own magnetic energy and the energy from static magnets to treat and reduce pain.

3. Chakras offer a “Sixth Sense” into the subconscious
Think about all your eyes see in an hour; think about what they see in a day; a year; a lifetime; Now think about all your Third Eye Chakra sees. As the sixth of seven energy centers in your body, your Third Eye is responsible for connecting our conscious mind with our internal intuitions – our “sixth sense” – so to speak. It through this chakra that you are often able to connect with emotions, feelings, and experiences that happened in the past, yet continue to affect you in the present.

4. Energy Healing is based on scientific principles
One of the biggest misconceptions about alternative medicine is that there is no scientific basis backing its legitimacy. That, however, is simply false. As science has proven for many years, atoms such as hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen, exert their own energy and play a big role in maintaining a healthy mind-body balance. Furthermore, these atoms are also very susceptible to the vibrations given off by each emotion. If you experience a traumatic event, for example, you will actually be able to feel the energy vibrations being spurred from emotions like fear, sadness, anger, etc. Unfortunately, these experiences can affect the natural makeup of the body’s energy field and create an imbalanced energy flow throughout the body, also known as trapped emotions. By using energy healing methods, however, you can identify and release the energies and emotions that have become lodged in the body and maintain a healthy, holistic balance.
