Haunted by Past Emotions – Part 2

(This is a follow-up to my Haunted by Past Emotions post.)

As promised, here is the end of my personal story about how my pain from the past came back to haunt me. When we arrived home the pain (both neck and knuckle) was really persisting and interfered with everything that I did. I was completely flashing back to my life prior to my transformation and it was awful.

I didn’t have the time to work on myself until the following day and the first thing that I did was check the vitality of all of my chakras. I had completely expected my Solar Plexus chakra to be a mess. Your Solar Plexus Chakra is what processes emotions and that is always the first chakra to get thrown out of balance after any sort of emotional upset. I normally have a very healthy Solar Plexus Chakra due to my diligent meditation and self-healing, but after returning from CT the vitality of my SP was only 20%.

In fact, all of my chakras were lower than they normally are, but one that really jumped out at me was my Throat Chakra. This is one that is always notoriously strong for me. It’s the Chakra of creativity and expression and I have no trouble with that! But on this particular day, the vitality of my Throat Chakra was only 10%. I have literally never seen it that low and didn’t really understand why. The next step was to determine if it was “congested” or “depleted” and it was very congested.

I decided to do an Emotion Code session on myself next. This is the first time I tested my chakras before and after an Emotion Code and sure enough, after releasing 5 trapped emotions the vitality of my Solar Plexus Chakra jumped from 20% to 90%. But I didn’t stop there. The pain in my neck was really still bothering me so I consulted my Pranic Healing protocols and found one for a stiff neck. Here’s where I had an ah-ha moment. The protocol called for thorough cleaning of the Throat Chakra and I marveled at how logical my poor Throat Charka reading was. Having an extremely “congested” throat chakra meant that lots of energy was trapped there. What is trapped energy???? Trapped energy = Pain! Where was the pain? Directly behind my Throat Chakra.

I went to work getting rid of that trapped dirty energy from my Throat and did a whole lot of other work on myself too. I actually performed a Pranic Psychotherapy session on myself because clearly, I’m still carrying wounds from the past. My personal Pranic Healing session lasted about 1 hour and within minutes of finishing it the pain in my neck was completely gone! Not one trace of pain was left and here I am a couple of weeks later and still no pain at all.

The pain in my knuckles was a little harder to figure out and get rid of. I was able to determine that the pain was caused by a nerve imbalance and can you guess where the nerve imbalance was? In my neck! That fix didn’t produce immediate results like the neck pain fix did, but within 3 days the pain completely dissipated.

And just to recap the entire experience . . . all of this pain was instantly brought on by emotional upset from the past. I was completely unconscious of any unrest the night the pain started. Consciously I was really enjoying myself, but my subtle energy body was clearly having a completely different experience. Whenever there is a change in your body, be it pain or a change in your sleep, digestion, emotional well-being, etc . . . try to take a good hard look at what was going on in your life just prior to the change. You will be amazed at the clues you will find if you look hard enough.

Haunted by Past Emotions

Ever since I got serious about practicing my energy medicine routine daily, along with meditation and yoga, I have been nearly 100% pain-free. Minor little things come up every now and again, but I can usually get to the bottom of them and fix them pretty easily. The one pain that has NEVER resurfaced during the past 3-4 years is my dreaded neck pain. This is the pain that was the original catalyst for me changing my life. But last week, it very unexpectedly made an appearance back into my life. On one hand, I was shocked and devastated, and on the other hand, I was thrilled about the potential learning experience. So let me explain what happened last week . . .

My husband and I went to CT for 3 days to attend his company holiday party. This is the same company that I worked for when we lived in CT. This is also the same company that is mostly (OK, fully) responsible for all of my previous health issues. I went through a lot of emotional unrest at the end of my career that caused more stress and trapped emotions than I could possibly measure. I have done an awful lot of emotional work on myself over the past 4 years and I could honestly say that I had no trepidations what-so-ever surrounding returning to this company event. In fact, I was excitedly contacting old co-workers in advance of seeing them.

We arrived to CT two days prior to the party. During those two nights I had trouble sleeping and not only could I not sleep but I noticed that one of my arms was going numb in bed. This is exactly one of the symptoms I used to have prior to my neck surgery. How strange. That hasn’t happened to me since the surgery!

The party night finally arrived and I had a wonderful evening of catching up with lots of old familiar faces. I truly enjoyed every minute. However, soon after we got into the car to start our journey home I discovered a very strange but familiar pain in the back of my neck. I blamed the uncomfortable rental car but wondered why the pain didn’t arise during our 5-hour commute going to CT. We drove close to 2 hours to a hotel in MA and tried to get some sleep. I laid there sleepless and in agony with the neck pain increasing. The next day it persisted and it was the exact same “bone pain” like a fist was pushing into the back of my neck that I had nearly every day after my neck surgery.

And if that wasn’t enough, I also noticed another familiar strange pain arising in my left hand. It felt like pressure between the knuckles of my middle and index finger. That pain grew and grew until it was very difficult for me to bend my fingers and make a fist. I remembered the days before and after surgery that this plagued me. After no trace of anything like this for 4 years, it too was back.

I simply could NOT believe that any of this was happening. It certainly made me realize just how fragile our Emotional Body is and it also illustrated just how much we live in our SUBCONSCIOUS MIND rather than our CONSCIOUS MIND. My conscious mind was having a ball, but my subconscious mind remembered all of the pain and misery it went through in the past and it caused my body to respond in all the old familiar ways. I literally had no control over anything. Even now, 4 years after attaining what I considered “perfect health” I still was not strong enough to control my subconscious mind.

The point of this story is to never under-estimate the power of emotions on your health. You may not think anything about the situations you encounter on a daily basis, but everything is being recorded and stored. You carry those files around with you for the rest of your life and they will affect your future.

The story doesn’t end here. After I got back home I started to work on myself and that, of course, is another long story that I will soon share. Please stay tuned . . .

What is Leg Pain Trying to Tell You?

It’s been a while since I posted an article on the hidden secrets behind your chronic pain. I often run into clients with mystery pain in the legs. This post will refer specifically to pain in the hips, calves and general legs. Knees are a whole ‘nother story so please stay tuned for an upcoming article that will talk about the hidden reason for knee pain. If you have general pain in your legs, hips and/or calves, please read on . . .

What is pain in your legs, hips, and calves trying to tell you?

Your hips, legs, and calves represent how you move forward in your life. Your legs, calves, and feet can store much of the trauma, resentment, jealousy, and emotional pain from both your past and present. This is especially true regarding issues that relate to your family. Problems in this area show up as a block in the Root chakra, which makes you feel fearful of moving forward or making changes. Do you feel stuck and unable to move forward in life? Does it feel that something is holding you back? You may also be experiencing issues regarding your self-identity. Other indications may be that you don’t feel any support in your life and you are the one supporting everyone else.

If this sounds like you and you would like to learn how the Emotion Code™ can release any trapped emotions related to resentment and jealousy, please click the button below.

Can Emotions Cause Knee Pain?

I recently had an enlightening personal health observation that I want to share . . .

Last month I traveled back to CT to spend time with my family over the holidays. I have a great relationship with my family and visits to them certainly never cause me stress. In fact, we had a great time, but strangely I developed a lot of pain in my knee during that visit. I did nothing but sit around for three days with no physical activity and no logical reason for my knee to hurt so much.

On the long drive home I sat in the car clutching my knee and pondering what on earth could be the reason for the pain. I explained to my husband that the pain was exactly the same pain that I experienced when I was young. It was this pain that made me stop playing soccer (or, at least the reason that I got delegated to goalie). It was this exact pain that sent me to the doctors in search of help and was told that I was wearing the cartilage away in my knee way too fast. The doctors gave me a big knee brace to ease the wear and tear and told me that I “would be in trouble by the time I was 30” if I continued to play and be as active as I was.

Fast forward to my 30 and 40s . . . I was just as active, if not more so. Not only was I running, hiking, and biking regularly, but I was doing it all with no knee brace at all. That terrible chronic pain just magically disappeared.

Until this visit back to CT.

All of a sudden a thought hit me and I blurted out to my husband, “Do you think Italian food is causing my pain?” It was mostly a joke, but it was based on the fact that my diet is much different now than it was when I was young and living at home. I lived on nothing but Italian food back then and now I’ve cut it almost completely out of my diet. (My parents and grandparents are probably shaking their fists if they are listening.) I went from never eating it, to a complete Italian Christmas overload. Knowing diet contributes to just about all of our health concerns, my joke might have had some validity and I couldn’t stop thinking about it all the way home.

When I got home, I decided to use my pendulum and my crazy skills at talking to my subconscious to get health-related answers. I specifically asked what was causing this sudden new pain and the very clear answer that I received was a “trapped emotion.” And it wasn’t just a trapped emotion, but a more powerful “inherited trapped emotion” meaning I was born with this and the energy was passed down to me by one of my parents (in this case, my mother). The emotion was “unworthy” and that really made me wonder. It’s very hard for me to be a houseguest because I hate the thought of people going out of their way for me. I hate feeling like a burden and it’s hard for me to eat their food, dirty their laundry, and cause them any extra work. I even brought my own bath towels to this visit which made my sister-in-law shake her head. Hmmmm, maybe I don’t feel worthy of them doing this extra work. And double hmmmmm, maybe being a houseguest for 3 days triggered this trapped energy!

So I used the Emotion Code™ to determine that the trapped energy was indeed in my left knee. And here’s something even more interesting to note . . . Pain in the left side of the body relates to your experiences (past), your emotional self and your memories. I used the Emotion Code technique to release the trapped emotion and the pain COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED. I have not had the slightest bit of pain since.

What is Your Pain Trying to Tell You?

Pain is like our “check engine” light going on. It’s our body trying to give us a sign that something is not right. Many times we think we know the cause for our pain (perhaps from a recent injury) and we turn to pain relievers. The pain relievers do in fact lessen the pain, but they also essentially turn off the ‘check engine’ light. No more pain, no more problem. At least that’s what we think.

But what about when we don’t have a good reason for that pain to be present? What about when unexplained pain comes out of nowhere? Ignoring the ‘check engine’ light is not a good idea. Sure, we can take the painkillers, but it’s also important to try to find the reason for the pain. There are many different messages about our emotional health that our pain may be trying to send us.

Emotional Meanings of Pain

One-sided pain issues can reflect the side of you that feels confused or unsupported.

Left side is the Yin side and is the more receptive side. It responds to stimulus from your environment. It holds your experiences (past), your emotional self, your memories, and emotional joy or pain.

Right side is the Yang side and it organizes and moves you forward into the future. It governs how you interact with the world. When you are experiencing problems on your right side you may feel stuck or hampered in moving forward. Or you may be experiencing unwanted change that is causing fear, reluctance, or trepidation

Pain on the Front side reveals your social or public self. It is the way the world sees you. It reflects those aspects of yourself that are active ingredients in your day-to-day living. This includes communication, desire, caring, loving, happiness, sadness. These show in your face, posture and body language.

Backside pain reflects private and unconscious elements of your life and can be the storehouse for everything you don’t want to deal with or don’t want other people to see. Hidden or unexpressed feelings become frozen into the structure of your body. That means a lot of negative emotions become stored along your spine and in the backs of your legs. Most of your powerful emotions such as anger and fear are stored in your back which pulls your body out of balance.

Energy Medicine and the Emotion Code can help to identify and remove some of these emotional blocks that may just relieve the pain naturally. Contact me today for a free 20-minute consultation to learn more.

Hidden Causes of Lower Back Pain

Our bodies are constantly trying to send us messages in the form of pain in different areas. We all have aches and pains that can be explained (or at least we think they can be explained) by recent injuries, but how many of us suffer with “pain for no good reason?” No matter what the pain or where it is, we usually have some kind of story that our minds have created for why it’s there, but only our subconscious knows the real reasons. Wouldn’t you just love to know??? I can get those answers for you with the Emotion Code, but in the meantime, here are some clues to what your lower back pain might be trying to tell you.

So what does it mean if you have lumbar (lower) back pain?

Lumbar (lower) vertebrae and tailbone can affect the reproductive organs, hips, large intestine, immune system, kidneys and bladder. Since this area of your body relates to safety and security, the consequences of your childhood show up in this area of your body, as do issues that make you feel threatened or insecure. Lumbar supports your spine and torso. This area is where family and security issues usually surface. Damage in this area often blocks the root chakra. Think of your root chakra like your ‘foundation’ which provides you with stability. It is our body’s most primal and fundamental energy center. When the root chakra is imbalanced due to trauma, psychological issues we experience a disruption in the flow of life. Often our blocked energy centers lead to constant personal and relationship issues. This all leads to feeling insecure and anxious as you turn your personal power and happiness over to others. You may fear success or failure. You will perceive a lack of financial support in your life making you feel as though you are struggling alone or that you never have enough resources (time, money, etc.) A victim mentality may be developing. Are you blaming others?

With Energy Medicine techniques, I can check the vitality of your chakras and clear them. I can also uncover some old emotions that may be trapped in this area and are causing problems. If you have lower back pain and are curious to learn more, please contact me.

Hidden Causes of Neck / Shoulder Pain

I’m nearing completion of my Emotion Code™ Certification and the results have been astounding. So far I’ve worked on over 26 different people and have had some form of success in all but two. There have been significant reductions in pain and anxiety levels. Two of my most successful and exciting cases where performed on dogs. Both dogs had developed a sudden onset of anxiety which kept them from sleeping through the night and completely changed their normally calm demeanor. When things change, for seemingly no reason, in a body there is most certainly some sort of an underlying energetic (and most likely emotional) cause. I was able to identify and release a handful of trapped emotions from both dogs that completely changed their behavior. Within days of their treatment, I received messages from both owners that the dogs were now sleeping through the night. I even got two messages from the same owner to let me know that their dog wasn’t even flinching at nearby fireworks around the 4th of July . . . and then another text a few days later to tell me that the dog was calming resting during a thunderstorm. Now I would say that was a success!

This article will cover the hidden causes of pain in your neck and upper shoulders. And if there’s anybody with plenty of experience with that, it’s me! After suffering with it for several years and finally having surgery, only to have the pain return . . . I finally figured out that the surgery did not address the root cause of the problem. If I only knew then what I know now . . .

So what does it mean if you have cervical spine, neck, and upper shoulder pain?

Neck, cervical vertebrae, and upper shoulders support your head and must be flexible. Tension and stiffness in the neck can indicate inflexibility–not willing or afraid to look at other possibilities. Neuropeptides released by stress and fear gravitate to the neck and shoulder area, causing tightness, pain, and constriction

Your neck sits between your brain and your heart–the two electric command centers of your body. Your neck is the bridge between your head (logic) and your feelings (body). Since your neck is the narrowest point on your body, energy can easily become restricted here

Electrical impulses passing between your heart and brain integrate analytical thinking with emotional desires and feelings. Differences between what the brain thinks and the heart desires can leave you feeling scattered, stuck, confused, or powerless, even dizzy or off-balance. Decisions become difficult. When feelings (fear, self-doubt, overwhelm, etc.) conflict with logic (organization, focus, action, strategy, etc), stress results

A disparity between heart and mind is the root cause of many physical disorders and dysfunctions, particularly auto-immune disorders such as Lupus. You may be judging and punishing yourself harshly, causing your body to punish itself.

Why Do I Have Chronic Neck Pain?

The first year of my Energy Medicine training was filled with endless things to remember, from the locations of all the meridians, source points, alarm points, holding points . . . the list goes on, to procedure after procedure to memorize and practice. It all felt very mechanical and physical to me and I found myself ‘going through the motions’ as directed by my studies. But this year is different. This year, I’m moving away from a focus on memorization and toward applying the knowledge to each unique case. No two people have the same physical or energetic makeup and the most challenging part of my job is to uncover the root of the body’s physical symptom like chronic pain. It’s almost like a puzzle and it really is fun.

What I have discovered this year is just how important the mind/body connection is. During this year’s first quarter classes I learned how to test the body’s energy systems to uncover emotional imbalances and just how those imbalances can affect the physical body. It has been a positively fascinating journey and that journey has led me (quite by fate) to the study of the Emotion Code™ healing system. You can find more information about the Emotion Code by clicking here.

And now I’m diving deeper and deeper into the connection between emotions and physical symptoms. I plan to write an article every month that explores some of these connections. This month I’m going to focus on the neck. It just so happens that it was my neck that caused me so much pain and trouble over the years. Even after neck surgery (a disc fusion) I still wasn’t fully able to get rid of the pain. Not only did the pain come back, but it came along with other problems that I didn’t have pre-surgery! Was this a sign that the root cause of the problem might not have been structural? The thing that completely cured me of my chronic, never-ending neck pain was over one year of regular meditation. It was a big commitment and one that I know not many people can stick to. But now I’ve found a much faster and easier route to the same end result.

So what does it mean if you have chronic pain in your neck?

If you have pain in the back of your head and neck (where your skull meets your spine) you may have issues with guilt. This type of pain often means you made mistakes somewhere along the way that you haven’t forgiven yourself for. You (and perhaps others) are judging yourself harshly. Are you not forgiving yourself? Are you not forgiving others? Is your pride getting in the way? Are you doubting your abilities?

If you have pain in your neck, cervical vertebrae, and upper shoulders it is a sign that you may be inflexible. Perhaps you are not willing or afraid to look at other possibilities. Neuropeptides released by stress and fear gravitate to the neck and shoulder area, causing tightness, pain, and constriction. Your neck sits between your brain and your heart, the two electric command centers of your body. Your neck is the bridge between your head (logic) and your feelings (body). A disparity between heart and mind is the root cause of many physical disorders and dysfunctions, particularly auto-immune disorders such as Lupus. You may be judging and punishing yourself harshly, causing your body to literally attack and punish itself.
